Connecting for Change – Bioneers by the Bay Conference, New Bedford, MA

The Marion Institute presents CONNECTING FOR CHANGE: A Bioneers by the Bay Conference on October 26-28, 2012, in New Bedford, MA.  This is an incredible conference, bringing together visionaries and leaders from across multiple social and scientific disciplines. Ace and Jacob will be presenting on Sunday October 28th at 2PM, preceded by a book signing at 12:30PM. Presentation in Plymouth, NH, for the Green Buildings Open House

Jacob Deva Racusin will be presenting on High Performance Natural Buildings for Cold Climates on Saturday, October 13th, 2012, at 10AM at the Plymouth Village Water and Sewer Net Zero Energy Building in Plymouth, NH. Presented by the Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative (PAREI) in conjunction with the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA)’s annual Green Buildings Open House, Jacob will present on how natural building systems can be designed and executed to create high-performance, moisture-durable building envelopes in cold climates, and the role that this approach can play in addressing not only energy and maintenance issues, but broader ecological and social issues commonly found in the construction of the built environment. …Read the rest »

New Frameworks in PA for Mother Earth News Fair!

Jacob and Ace will be in Seven Springs, PA for the Mother Earth News Fair. We’ll be presenting both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, followed by a book signing.  We are delighted to be in the good company of many incredible practitioners of sustainable living and tens of thousands of fairgoers. NFNB in CO @ International Straw Bale Builder’s Conference!

NFNB is hitting the road (or rather, the skies)! Jacob is attending the International Straw Bale Conference in Estes Park, CO, to present on NFNB’s research, promote the book, get inspired by the global community of ecological designers and builders, and compete in the Straw Bale Olympics.  If you are in the region, swing by the conference on Wednesday September 19th at 9:00AM to catch the presentation, followed by a book signing. NFNB at SolarFest!

We are excited to be presenting again at SolarFest in Tinmouth, VT!  Ace and Jacob will be giving a presentation from 10:30-12:30, titled “New Building for a Changing World” In this rapidly-changing world, it is important that we adopt ecologically-sensitive and resilient design and construction strategies to address global climate change and other pressing issues facing the development of the built environment. It is all the more critical to identify the role socially- and community-responsive practices play in providing long-term solutions to these ecological problems.
