Teaching

We are honored to have a long-term relationship with three fine educational organizations through which we are able to offer a range of different educational experiences.  At the Yestermorrow Design/Build School of Warren, VT, we instruct a series of different course offerings, from two-day workshops to multi-week long intensives.  Our course offerings include:

  • Natural Paints and Finishes
  • Straw Bale Design/Build
  • Introduction to Natural Building
  • Natural Insulation Systems
  • Natural Mass Systems
  • Natural Plasters (Basic and Advanced)
  • Earthen Floors
  • Natural Building Certificate Program (six-week intensive program)

At the Heartwood School for the Homebuilding Crafts of Washington, MA, we offer an annual course in Natural Building in the Northeast, a two-day class designed to present the range of natural enclosure options for buildings in the cold and wet northeastern climate.  Finally, we are proud members of Seven Generations Natural Building, an educational organization that offers natural building skills training in locations across the world.

We are available to instruct at your institution.  We have extensive experience in crafting curriculum to suit a wide variety of formats and student populations, both in class, in studio, and in the field.  Whether you are interested in a guest lecturer, a weekend hands-on workshop, or a more intensive and in-depth multidisciplinary offering, New Frameworks Natural Building has the ability to offer research- and field-based instruction in green and natural building design, applied science, and construction.
