Introducing our Casitas: affordable and eco-friendly ADUs

ADUs that are Affordable and Eco-Friendly: Introducing Casitas

Amid a housing marketing marked by soaring prices and limited options, homeowners, builders, and designers are all feeling the strain. The dream of homeownership, once a cornerstone of the American Dream, now seems out of reach for many. But the effects of this crisis ripple far beyond individual aspirations.

Rising costs not only hinder homeowners’ dreams, but also limit opportunities for builders, designers, and those seeking to create community housing. Among these challenges that impact the entire housing ecosystem, sustainability often takes a back seat.

We believe that affordability, comfort, and health shouldn’t be a far-off luxury, but instead be seen as necessities in every home built. That’s why we’ve taken on the challenge of creating beautifully designed living spaces that champion environmental stewardship at an extremely competitive price point.

Our Modern Accessory Dwelling Unit Redefines Home Construction

Say hello to Casitas, our modern answer to our national housing crisis.

These thoughtfully designed modular accessory dwelling units offer a streamlined solution to the complexities of traditional home construction. From reducing design costs to minimizing carbon footprints, our Casitas redefine what it means to build--and live--responsibly. In fact, our Casitas have a negative carbon impact, meaning each ADU stores more carbon than was produced in the building process. If that gets you excited, keep reading.

The Casita design reflects decades of fine-tuning our high-performance natural building creations. As ADU builders and ADU contractors who have collaborated with experienced vendors and tradespeople for more than two decades, our Casita ADUs are crafted with meticulous attention to detail, with a focus on quality straw bale panels, and efficient fabrication and delivery.

ADU Cost Savings

Beyond that, our mission is to use our Casitas ADUs to help tackle the growing issue of housing affordability head-on. By eliminating the need for costly custom design fees, homeowners stand to save thousands of dollars without compromising quality or aesthetic appeal. In fact, the average accessory dwelling unit builder (that might be you!) can save anywhere from $27,000 to a staggering $54,000 in design fees alone with our Casitas.

Modern Accessory Dwelling Unit Performance

Finally, and most importantly, our Casitas are a climate-positive response to the harmful reality of traditional construction and housing. Did you know that from sourcing raw materials to a building’s end of life, construction accounts for 40% of global carbon emissions?

As ADU builders, we are deeply proud to offer a climate-positive housing solution that we hope is within reach for many. Our Casitas are among the first carbon-storing buildings in North America, making them part of a new, positive cycle of housing that reduces global emissions and makes housing a part of the climate solution. They positively impact the people, animals, plants, and places involved in every step of their production and lifecycle.
